Saxophonist Samuel Eagles with an album of his own original music, debuting the quartet, the alto/soprano player joined by vibist Ralph Wyld, bassist Fergus Ireland, and Partikel drummer Eric Ford.
All recorded in no-nonsense fashion at Derek Nash’s Clown Pocket studio, it’s confident and mature playing from all concerned with a meticulously plotted group sound that sits somewhere not unadjacent to Cloudmakers trio’s or Empirical’s. SG
