ReDiviDer, leading lights on the new Dublin prog-jazz scene rapidly gaining a burgeoning reputation as part of the Match & Fuse movement, are to release ReDiviDer Meets I Dig Monk, Tuned on 7 October, their label Diatribe has confirmed. Preceded by gigs at London’s Vortex club on 17 September and the Grand Social in Dublin the following day this “two horns, no chords” Mingus- and Tim Berne-influenced outfit released their debut, the palindromic Never Odd or EveN, two years ago; and in February entered a Dublin studio to record this follow-up, the mysterious bejazzed title of which, referring to the "I Dig Monk, Tuned" bit, is an anagram of the words "United Kingdom" where the guests are from. Led by drummer Matthew Jacobson with bassist Derek Whyte, alto saxophonist Nick Roth and trombonist Colm O’Hara joined by Troyka’s Kit Downes, guitarist Alex Roth, trumpeter Alex Bonney and cellist Ben Davis, the compositions featuring the guests were specially composed by Jacobson with each of the scenesters in mind. Tracks are: ‘Twin Kodes’, ‘I, Lute Nerd’, ‘Animal Code’, ‘Bin Saved’, ‘End it Rule’, ‘Velvet Pouch’, and ‘May I Agree.’ ReDiviDer above
