Among the new albums already scheduled for release in early-2016 – Rokia Traoré’s Né So is one of the first up. 

Produced once more by John Parish guest stars joining the Malian singer are Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Toni Morrison and Devendra Banhart. Look out for it in in mid-February.


Also in February Empirical’s latest album Connection is out. Shaney Forbes and Nat Facey’s acoustic Eric Dolphy and Bobby Hutcherson-influenced four-piece have changed label for this new project moving from Salisbury-based indie Naim to the US avant rock and jazz record company Cuneiform.



Also new, this time even earlier in late-January, is Let’s Get Losta standards-flavoured album from singer Cyrille Aimée.

 
And lastly prog and alt.jazz-friendly experimental band Tortoise return with The Catastrophist on 22 January.
