Very sad to hear of the passing of Jimmy Scott who died yesterday in Vegas aged 88. Born with Kallmann syndrome, a hormonal disorder that affected sexual maturity during puberty, Scott always sang in a kind of an alto voice his sound totally unforgettable, his presence magnetic on record or live. He was rediscovered by the Twin Peaks generation but nonetheless will be most remembered for the Lionel Hampton part of his career and ‘Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool’, and the 1963 classic album Falling in Love Is Wonderful only properly released just over a decade ago.
