Expected later this year on the F-IRE label, enter the Alex Merritt quartet.
Anatta, the title drawing from Buddhism, features the saxophonist who grew up in Cambridge and went to music school at the Birmingham Conservatoire, in stellar company alongside pianist John Turville, double bassist Sam Lasserson and drummer Jeff Williams.
There’s no release date yet but Merritt’s website mentions a December launch. Before that his band play the Crypt in Camberwell in September.
