A very cleansing duo record from Spin Marvel electronicist Terje Evensen and bassist Tim Harries, the latter also a fixture in Martin France’s band, and slightly more incongruously, Katie “The Closest Thing to Crazy” Melua.
Spare, and taut there are eight tracks that feel like straight improvisations here, and while spacious, ambient even, are surprisingly eventful, Harries from nowhere stirring himself with no little sense of drama to his play. Evensen is adept at making the unsaid said, the little bell-like noises and murmurings he invokes as part of his cave of softly encroaching sounds as mysterious as the dawn approaching.
