With her latest album already topping digital charts across Europe this week Stacey Kent returns to Ronnie Scott's in London the venue where she unveiled the title song of The Changing Lights during her visit to the Frith Street national jazz institution last autumn.

Written for her by the songwriting team of Booker prize-winning novelist Kazuo Ishiguro and her husband saxophonist Jim Tomlinson, Kent is joined once more by Graham Harvey on piano and Rhodes, bassist Jeremy Brown, and Josh Morrison on drums taking the place of Stephen Keogh from last year, plus Tomlinson as the main instrumental soloist.

The new album opens with an initially very slow version of ‘This Happy Madness’, again a song the singer interpreted last year, a Gene Lees link in the lyrics retained from 2011’s Dreamer in Concert

Expect plenty of sambas during this autumnal residency plus Tomlinson’s signature Getzian touches a given and songs from the Great American Songbook that Kent has made her own since the beginning of her career way back in the 1990s. Photo: Parlophone
