Further into Jazz

Enniskillen venue Jazzeys is to host the first of a new monthly Further into Jazz night, an evening that shines the spotlight on a music under-exposed locally through the lens and ideas of a new jazz generation.
Presented by Marlbank in association with Harnessing Creativity and Jazzeys, Further into Jazz opens on Friday 12 September with the Neil Burns trio featuring Steve Davis. It's an excellent opportunity to hear much talked-about pianist Neil Burns, known for his work with breakthrough jazz singer Victoria Geelan, joined by bassist Peter Doherty, and featuring acclaimed Bourne/Davis/Kane drummer Steve Davis, perform on an intimate scale in stylish surroundings at Jazzeys of Darling Street, on the island.
Further into Jazz begins with a pre-gig meet-the-artists taster session workshop from 5pm, hosted by local music shop KB Music on nearby Queen Street. Jazz students of all levels are welcome. Entry to the gig, which begins at 7.30pm, and pre-gig workshop, are both free of charge.
