Hip-hop is one element of new Erik Truffaz album Doni Doni.

The clip above features the last track on the new Parlophone/Warner Music France distributed album which is to be released in mid-January.

It’s rapper Oxmo Puccino, no stranger to the Truffaz set-up, who features on ‘Le complément du verbe.’

Doni Doni is a quartet affair, beats-loving Truffaz plus bassist Marcelo Guiliani, keyboardist Benoît Corboz and relatively new drummer Arthur Hnatek. Malian world music star singer Rokia Traoré also appears on a small number of tracks.

The album arrives a little under three years on from the excellent noir-ishly modal vocals-flavoured El tiempo de la Revolución and a year on from the overly-produced Being Human Being.

Erik Truffaz returns to Ronnie Scott’s for London quartet dates in March.
